My Favorite Photo Editing Apps

Would you believe that this photo was taken and edited using ONLY my iPhone 4s?

Although I'm relatively new to the world of 'smart phones', I made it a priority early on to investigate photo editing apps. My favorite so far is Snapseed, which allows you to make basic edits to brightness, contrast, ambiance, sharpness, etc.

The picture on the left was the original I snapped with my iPhone camera and the picture on the right was after my basic edits in Snapseed:
The 'before' image above was first edited for brightness, contrast, etc. using Snapseed, then Picfx was used to add a sunkissed 'vintage' vibe. Picfx is another of my 'go to' apps for layering cool effects! Obviously you aren't going to get the exact same sharpness and quality as you would with an actual digital SLR camera, but I'm pretty impressed with the capabilities of my phone and apps!

Now, go forth and make your summer iPhone photos AMAZING!

Summer Sun

This post features one of my favorite spots for portrait sessions.  It has tall grass, sweeping views, and pretty flowers.  In June, the fields erupt with wild peonies!  A perfect backdrop to capture this lovely lady (who I was lucky enough to get to know in my homeroom for 3 years)!  Congrats on your impending graduation, Chelcie!

Hats Off (or on!)

My friend and colleague, Holly, has made it her mission to accomplish 29 goals before her 30th birthday. One of her goals was to wear each and every one of her hats (she has an extensive collection).  To prove that she accomplished this goal, she enlisted my services to capture her sporting her chapeaus! Here are just a few from our session...

Mothers

Although my specialty is Senior Portraits, on occasion I photograph families, particularly the families of my friends.  In honor of Mother's Day, I've put together a few of my favorite photos of mothers and their children...Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful ladies!

Jacqui

Vibrant fall colors along with fruitful apple trees provided the backdrop for this session.  Jacqui is the second in her family to have me take her Senior Portraits as her older brother graduated the previous year. It was an extremely windy day, however, we managed to use that to our advantage (gently blown-back hair can be nice) and captured some beautiful images!

The Park

The photo session for this young lady (who I happened to have the pleasure of getting to know in my homeroom for 3 years!) was taken amongst a backdrop of lush green grass, stone steps, and tall oak trees. The location mixes urban and natural elements...one of my favorite places!
